On 15 November WIIS.de celebrated their 15 year Anniversary with a conference in Berlin.
The conference was on “Is the future democratic? Democracy, Security and Technology” and covered topics such as Artificial Intelligence, Global Health, Feminism in International Security and Intelligence Cooperation. We heard many inspiring and insightful speeches held by female experts from the field.
WIIS.de managed to organise a conference characterised by high academic integrity and quality and with contributions that kept our attention throughout. Highlights were certainly Mariam Safi’s account of developments in Afghanistan as well as the emotional speech announcing the Sylke Tempel Essay Prize in memory of WIIS.de’s chairwomen Sylke Tempel.
