Vienna Seminar – Youth, Peace and Security

On June 12, 2019 WIIS Members attended the International Peace Institute’s 49th Vienna Seminar on “Partnering with Young People for Prevention – Sustaining Peace and Addressing Violence, Crime and Corruption”.

Co-organised by the IPI, the Austrian Foreign Ministry and the Austrian Defense Ministry the Seminar invited panelists from the OSCE, the Council of Europe, United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, the Ban Ki-Moon Centre for Global Citizens, the Peace and Development Center, the Dag Hammarskjöd Foundation and the World Federation of UN Associations to discuss how to remove stereotypes around youth and help especially youth from non-elite circles to join decision-making processes in their communities.
