International organisations are popular employers for professionals in the field of international security. With a broad range of activities and global representation, they provide highly interesting job opportunities. Recruitment at these organisations, however, is highly competitive and can come across as a big hurdle for possible candidates.
Thus, the OSCE Talent Management Section invited members of WIIS Austria to participate in a Recruitment Bootcamp on 2 October 2019, which aimed at familiarising participants with the process. The aim was to demystify and explain the selection process in international organisations and to enhance capacity among applicants. To this effect, the one-day workshop provided practical tips and exercises on the job application planning strategy, as well as a module on practising and preparing for competency-based interviews.
