This time the spotlight is on Global Citizenship. Global Citizenship is the ever evolving concept that one’s identity transcends geography or political borders and that responsibilities or rights are derived from membership in a broader class: “humanity”. The idea is in accordance with the Principles of the UN Charter, the Sustainable Development Goals, and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
But what does this mean beyond this fancy sounding concept, you may ask? How does this translate into my everyday live and work? How is this related to security? Good questions! Hopefully our board members Julia and Jessica, who work for the Ban Ki-Moon Centre for Global Citizens will be able to answer them for us!
