For our second Feminist Book Club session at WIIS Austria, we turned to Mary Beard’s ‘Women & Power: A Manifesto’.
Together, we traced the long history of silencing women — from Penelope in the Odyssey to the boardrooms of today. We asked: What does power sound like? Who gets to speak with authority? And how do we unlearn the centuries of gendered expectations embedded in our institutions?
