We’re excited to invite you to our fourth FIRESIDE CHAT of the year, featuring Javiera Thais Santa Cruz, an experienced gender expert with extensive hands-on work in gender equality and women’s empowerment, focusing on peace, women, and security in field peacekeeping and peacebuilding.
Meet Javiera Thais Santa Cruz:
Ms. Thais Santa Cruz is an adviser on gender issues in the Gender Issues Programme of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE). In this role, she focuses on the WPS and economic and environmental dimensions of the organization, with an emphasis on networks, economic empowerment and digitalization. Prior to joining the OSCE, Javiera worked as the Gender Adviser to the United Nations Special Representative of the Secretary-General in Kosovo. With over 15 years of experience in international organizations—11 of which were with the United Nations system in Kosovo and Colombia—Javiera has also worked in the government and NGO sectors in Chile, Kosovo, and Palestine. A dual citizen of Italy and Chile, she holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from the Universidad Católica de Chile and a Master of Arts in the Theory and Practice of Human Rights from the University of Essex, United Kingdom.
